Engadine cultural mix

Cowbells, vintage cars & Nietzsche

Traditional

When whips crack in March, …

.. Cowbells ring and children in blue robes sing, then it’s Chalandamarz! The whole of St. Moritz welcomes spring in Engadin style. It also gets festive at the Schlitteda – when couples in traditional Engadin costume parade through the village on decorated horse-drawn sleighs.

Graubünden traditions are colorfully celebrated here and can be experienced live right on our hotel doorstep. In addition to customs, new cultural formats also find their place – for example at the Engadin Festival or the St. Moritz Art Film Festival.

Sports events

Where alpine nature becomes a sports arena

The unique landscape around St. Moritz is perfect for exceptional sporting events. In addition to international winter sports championships, every year the town offers an impressive backdrop for sports that can almost only be found here. In winter, Lake St. Moritz becomes a grand and festive show stage. At the White Turf, noble horses gallop across the ice, at The I.C.E. classic cars compete on the mirror-smooth ice surface, while waiters serve champagne on ice skates.

Delicatessen & Culinary

What’s on the plate,

often has short distances in St. Moritz – and long stories. The cuisine is based on local ingredients and tradition, while international classics are served and interpreted with flair.

Gastronomy Stüva

We also offer this selection in our restaurants: CORVATSCH serves Swiss specialties, MADE IN ASIA impresses with Far Eastern highlights – and CARUSO entices with Italian classics, including probably the largest selection of pizzas in the region

What ends up on the plate often has short routes in St. Moritz - and long stories.

Museums & Galleries

St. Moritz has always attracted great thinkers

Friedrich Nietzsche, Hermann Hesse, Thomas Mann, Rainer Maria Rilke and Giovanni Segantini sought relaxation and inspiration here. Between museums that preserve history and art and galleries that show new visions, you can feel the pulse of a lively cultural scene.

Nowhere else in the Alps are there as many art galleries as in St. Moritz and the surrounding area. In addition to works by classical masters and nationally acclaimed collections, young talents are also discovered and presented here. A special feature is the Design Gallery in the Serletta parking garage: daily changing poster and photo exhibitions can be admired here.
